What we do for the zl1.

The LT4 wants pulleys, fuel, and headers — in that order. Stage 1 tightens the throttle, optimizes timing across the full RPM band, and unlocks the safe headroom GM left on the table. Going beyond Stage 1 is where the platform gets interesting: smaller blower pulley, full bolt-ons, flex-fuel system, methanol injection.

Common questions.

Will the dealer detect the tune on my ZL1?

GM stores a tune-flag the dealer can read on most LT4 platforms. We offer free stock-revert before any planned dealer visit and re-flash after — included with every tune we did.

Do I need a smaller pulley to make real power?

You'll see 25–50 wheel hp gain on stock pulley with a tune. To get into the 750+ range you'll want a smaller blower pulley, an idler kit, and supporting mods.

What octane does the ZL1 tune require?

93 octane minimum. Stage 2 builds running pulley + flex-fuel use E85 for the maximum tune envelope.

How long does the ZL1 appointment take?

Stage 1: 2–3 hours. Stage 2 with mods to install: full day. Built-motor / pulley swap: multi-day project that we scope ahead of time.
